Under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a videoconference meeting was held focusing on elevating the sphere of physical culture and sports to a qualitatively new level, expanding public participation in mass sports, and improving the system for selecting and training athletes.

During the meeting, existing problems and shortcomings in the sector were analyzed, priority tasks were identified, and directions for the further activities of the National Olympic Committee at the level of mahallas and higher educational institutions were outlined. In addition, key priorities were defined, including достойное participation in upcoming prestigious competitions, increasing the number of licenses secured for future Olympic and Paralympic Games, and ensuring high-quality preparation for them.

The participants also discussed the essence of the recently adopted Presidential resolution “On measures to improve financing mechanisms in the sports sector and expand the involvement of business entities in the industry.”

Within the framework of implementing this Resolution, the initiative of Farhod Mamadjonov, head of the UzTex Group group of companies, to allocate 10 billion soums in sponsorship funds to the sports sector was warmly welcomed by the country’s Olympic community.
